Monitor and report on suggested and proposed legislation of interest to the Child Protection Law Section (CPLS) membership. Inform CPLS membership when important legislative actions occur. Analyze pending legislation for issues and ramifications. Provide forum for dialogue on proper development of child protection law with proposed or passed legislation. At the conclusion of each State Legislative session enacting new laws, provide prompt analysis of each law and report summaries of such laws to the CPLS membership. Notwithstanding, CPLS shall neither support nor oppose any proposed legislation or pending enactment by the Texas Legislature or the United States Congress or any department or agency in violation of the policy and requirements of the State Bar of Texas as specified in its Policy Manual.
